Wimbledon 2013: Will Roger Federer retain his Wimbledon singles title this summer?

The build-up to this summer's Wimbledon Championship continues as we profile the chances of seven-time Wimbledon champion, Roger Federer.
Roger Federer isn’t ready to ride off into the sunset just yet.
Reigning Champion at SW19, it would not be a surprise to see Federer add yet another title to a glittering career. He has the ability to play with speed and precision on grass, clay and hard courts, making him one of the most versatile players the game has ever seen.
For four years, 2004 - 2007, Federer’s enjoyed superiority on every surface but clay and many had already concluded that he was the greatest player tennis has ever seen. When he completed the career Grand Slam by winning the French Open in 2009, Federer erased almost any remaining doubt.
Shortly after, Roger added further confirmation by winning his sixth Wimbledon and his fifteenth Grand Slam singles title - eclipsing Pete Sampras's record of 14 grand slam titles and becoming the sixth man to win all four majors.Federer holds an amazing record of 23 consecutive Grand Slam semi-finals, more than double the next best.
Watching Federer work his magic is one of the most beautiful images in sport today. His shotmaking is often described as ‘magical,’ ‘unbelievable’ and ‘ridiculous.’ His backhand, his movement and his serve ooze sophistication and elegance.
Easy with a smile or a joke, friendly, generous with his time and money, and almost always showing fine sportsmanship, Roger has a personality as appealing as his game. This combination has earned him tremendous popularity and respect among both fans and peers.
Though the legendary tennis star has struggled thus far in 2013, he is far from finished as a major force in men’s tennis. Like Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour, anything less than greatness from Federer leads to speculation about whether he is losing his edge.
The Swiss will seek solace in the grass courts after a humbling defeat by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the French Open this week. The grass courts of SW19 suit his aggressive game more than the dirt of Roland Garros and Federer will now head to Halle to begin his preparation for his eighth Wimbledon title.
He is still capable of dominating opponents with his world class serve, still has enough speed and agility to dominate the court and has one of the best backhands on the ATP Tour. And the best part is that he has not lost any of the knowledge or vast championship experience.
Federer won the event in 2012, defeating local hero Andy Murray in the final.  If he stays fit and healthy, nobody should be surprised to see Federer standing alone as the champion once again  - 10 years on from his first Wimbledon title.
